Minimalistic Look
Let’s start off with a beautiful landscape picture that is hung in the middle of the mantelpiece and beside it, let’s place two tall wood candlesticks on each side of the picture.
You can use modern-style candlesticks or old-fashioned ones, your choice.
And if you’ll notice the candles are green which really pulls out the green that’s in the landscape picture.
For this next fireplace decorating idea, I’m going to create an eclectic look.
Electric Look
Let’s get a beautiful wreath and place it in the middle of the mantel with a bow.
Now place two candlesticks with varying heights keeping the larger taller candlestick towards the outside.
Add some beautiful ivory candles.
Now add something to the right side of the fireplace like some books, they need to be built up.
So you could put an old wooden box and place the old books in the middle.
You might even have found some adorable bunny bookends for instance, if that’s not your thing find something that is, that you can flank them on each side of the books.
The softness of the green wreath with the wooden tones looks beautiful together.
Rustic Farmhouse Look
For this rustic farmhouse look, find an old architectural piece that can be placed on the fireplace mantel.
Now add some greenery and place it in clear glass bottles, just a little, you don’t need a lot, and do it on both sides of this piece.
What I love about this look is that one piece is so big, that you don’t need a lot more on the
mantel but the greenery softens the entire look.
Next for this traditional look, choose a clock with a dark frame because it just pops off of that shiplap.
Next, instead of greenery, try and change things up a little by adding a pop of colour with some
beautiful yellow forsythia branches.
You can also place thin and clear glass bottles on each side of the clock, but we still have a little thing missing it looks a little empty, so we’re going to fix that with a long wood votive tray.
Make sure to centre it exactly under the clock, and you have made a beautiful look.
I love candlelight whether it’s in the daytime or the evening, I just think it makes a room very romantic and calming.
